It can withstand 1100 lbs of force. A solid core wood door is going to be tough. Keep in mind the door itself plays a key role in how strong a barricade lock performs. Installation was a breeze and the base is fairly unobtrusive.

On a conventional entry door an intruder can break a door window reach in and gain access to the door knob lever to open the door. A hollow core metal door can be folded open in a few seconds and even kickdowns like you show are broken off. It is low enough that i don t even notice it going in a and out of the door. Also have the nightlock for inward swing doors and highly recommend it as well. The nightlock barricade anchored securely to the floor used the strength of the floor. The similar ongard door barricade is significantly better but is 100 and is hard to find. If you think your door is wider i would suggest measuring it as other reviews said it was to small. The sliding plate that goes against the door is a little odd shaped but it does the job. A most excellent security upgrade for the 40 price. Here is what i noted.
